about us

When people first see crazeeHeads helmet covers, the initial reaction is usually something along the lines of, “How cute!” Followed by, “How on earth did you come up with this idea?”

It started when our fearless leader skied into a snow fence at Hunter Mountain in New York back in 1997 - breaking her nose and wrist. After the fact, her husband bought her a helmet to wear when skiing. (Brilliant!) Problem was, O Fearless One liked to wear a panda hat when she skied – but she couldn’t wear it with a helmet. And that’s how crazeeHeads was born. After many false starts, our talented pattern maker transformed a really cute panda hat into a really cute ZeeZee the Panda helmet cover. Now we’ve got 10 plush animals to choose from – including two with a nose that beeps!

When we started selling crazeeHeads in 2003, very few skiers and snowboarders wore helmets. My, how times have changed because helmet usage is growing by leaps and bounds. Nowadays many US ski resorts strongly recommend that children wear helmets, and some require helmets for youngsters enrolled in classes. Some European countries have even stricter rules that require all children to wear helmets – no exceptions. Even adults the world over are waking up to the reality that it’s smart to wear helmets.

Of course, any hockey player, inline skater, skydiver, rock climber, and bicyclist knows it’s crazy not to wear a helmet. (Know someone who does this stuff? Get ‘em a stretcheeHeads – it will fit on just about any sport helmet.)

That’s our story, and we’re stickin’ to it. We love sports, and we believe in wearing helmets. Life is short, so get off the couch, get outside, enjoy yourself – and be safe doing it!

Don't be fooled by imitations! Get the real thing a crazeeHeads (or stretcheeHeads) helmet cover! For sheer quality, fit and plain old "adorableness factor", there is nothing in the world like a crazeeHeads helmet cover.

(In case you were wondering, all crazeeHeads helmet covers AND our packaging comply with the Consumer Protection Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA)– which, in case you didn’t know – sets new lower acceptable levels of lead and phthalates in children’s products.... and, our packaging is recyclable!)
